Pig’s Eye Jass Band

Featuring Vocalist Nancy Hite

Playing traditional jazz and blues from the 1890's to the 1920’s—America's original art form, will get your feet moving!  The Pig's Eye Jass (the original spelling) Band has been going since 1961.  The band’s approach is to study and play the classic pieces in the roots of American popular music, familiar and less well-known, celebrating but not necessarily imitating the originals: King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, etc. Nancy Hite, sings in the style of blues icons such as Bessie Smith.  Take a trip back to the beginning of it all.

Mary Cutrufello

Mary Cutrufello has been a Texas honky-tonk heroine, a fiery Midwestern roots-rocker, and a powerhouse acoustic performer in her almost 35 years in the music business. Connecticut-raised and Yale-educated, she's performed on The Tonight Show and Austin City Limits (twice), and toured in all 50 states and several European countries. Hailed by USA Today as "a fierce guitarist with a blistered-throat voice," Cutrufello's music is a captivating, heartland-proud musical stew at once timeless and immediate. And as anyone who’s seen her tear-it-up live shows can attest, her guitar skills put her in a class with the best of the Lone Star, North Star—or any other—State.

The May North

The May North is a three-piece original folk group from St. Paul, MN. They have recorded four original albums and have a fifth in the works. With a sound that’s part roots, part bluegrass, and a bit of breakneck blues, the band pays tribute to these musical forms while also carving its own path. This is bluegrass without boundaries, folk without pretense, and honest storytelling without apology.

Adam & Ava Levy

Adam Levy is a veteran singer-songwriter best known for leading the Twin Cities roots rockers The Honeydogs for thirty years and more recently, being a part of the Americana trio, Turn Turn Turn. His singer-songwriter daughter Ava Levy started in a femme punk band in high school called Sapphire and now records and performs solo with a band, and released a handful of singles in the last year or so. As a duo father and daughter share songs, exploring dad’s ‘catalogue,’ Ava’s tunes and a couple of covers. Ava’s lovely voice alone is worth the price of admission.

It’s also entertaining watching Ava tease her dad as they tell stories about songwriting and making music together since she was a toddler.
